Richard W. “Dick” Luck, Sr.- May 28, 2009

COEYMANS HOLLOW – Richard W. “Dick” Luck, Sr., 75, entered eternal life Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Albany.  Dick was born and lived all his life in the Albany area.  He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

     Dick had been employed as a heating technician and then an over the road truck driver.  He had served as the animal control officer for the Town of Coeymans, Village of Ravena and the Town of New Baltimore and was a member of the DAV and the VFW.  Dick also helped establish the Grandparents Rights Organization and had been a Boy Scout Leader.

     Survivors include his sons;  John W. (Darline) Luck of Coeymans Hollow, Richard W. Luck, Jr. of Guilderland, Charles W. Luck of Coeymans Hollow and David M. Luck of Stormville;  daughters, Delores J. Shook and Debra Ann Luck both of Coeymans Hollow;  sisters, Mildred Whitbeck of NC and Maryjane Richichi of Greenville;  grandchildren, Renee Brozowski, Randy Nichols, Kristie Martone, Melinda Luck, Christian Luck, Brent Shook, John Deyo, Destiny Deyo and Sadie Luck;  11 great-grandchildren;  and numerous nieces and nephews.  Dick was predeceased by his wife, Dolores J. Luck, parents William and Pearl Luck, brother William Luck, sister Virginia Palmer and son-in-law Manny Shook.

     Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday June 1st at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM.  In lieu of flowers contribution in memory of Dick may be made to the Fisher House, C/O VA Medical Center Volunteer Services, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
