Michael H. Ostrander - August 28, 2009

SELKIRK Michael H. Ostrander, 53, was welcomed into the arms of his parents August 28, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was a 1975 graduate of Ravena Coeymans Selkirk School. He worked for Wickes Lumber for 9 years and then GE/SABIC for 26 years.

         He was a member of Selkirk Fire Company #3 for 35 years, Ordained Reverend of the Universal Life Church since 2004, and a member of the Bethlehem Elks for 20 years.

         Michael loved his family and friends, his Harley, a good party, and recalling memories from the past. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins. He was known for his love of life, quick wit, and humor.

         Survivors include his devoted wife of 33 years, Pamela Busch Ostrander; loving dad to Sean (Veronica) Ostrander and Sarah (Aaron) Ostrander; precious granddaughter Shattarah Laylee Jane; Granddog Bubba; Brother of Cindy (Mike) Vatalaro, George Ostrander, Jeff (Kathi) Ostrander, Jody (Lina) Ostrander; Brother in law to Steve (Tina) Busch, Ray Busch; Uncle of Brian (Jill) Jones, Rebecca (Casey) Miller, Kayla Vatalaro, Taylor Vatalaro, Daniel Ostrander, Cassie Ostrander, Zoe Ostrander, Joshua Ostrander, Katelyn Ostrander, and Jacob Ostrander Steven Busch, Alex Busch, Angel (Brian) Johnson, Ray Busch, Kylene Busch, Jen (Carlos) Mena, Tina Jarwoski; Great Uncle to Nicholas Miller, Mia, Kristin and Zach Johnson, and Christopher& Preston Jones. Michael was predeceased by his parents George and Judy Ostrander, nephew Michael Vatalaro, and brother in law David Busch; Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

         The family is eternally grateful for his team of doctors and nurses for his care and our many friends for their prayers, love, and support.

         Funeral services will be held 7 PM Tuesday September 1st at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 3-7 PM. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Contributions in memory of Michael may be made to Pamela J. Ostrander.
