 SELKIRK – John J. “Jack” Brennan, 83, passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his residence. Jack was born in Athens, son of the late Leo and Mary (Webber) Brennan, and has resided in Selkirk since 1960. Jack was a 1946 graduate of Athens High School. He retired from Aerobilt Truck Bodies and NY State Office of General Services. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, bowling and golf. Jack had been a member and volunteer of the W.C. Brady Hook & Ladder and the Selkirk Fire Co. #1 for many years.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Helen Picarazzi Brennan in March of this year. Survivors include his brother, Thomas James (Jim) Brennan and his wife Anna of Catskill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack was predeceased by his brothers, Leo (Buddy) and Robert (Bobby) Brennan and sisters, Joan Shook, Mary (Dada) Konderwick and Colleen Barry.
Funeral services will be held 9 AM Friday, November 2nd at St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena. Entombment will follow in St. Patrick’s Mausoleum, Coeymans. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM. Contributions in memory of Jack may be made to the Bethlehem Volunteer Ambulance, PO Box 246, Selkirk, NY 12158.
