RAVENA – Laura G. Case, 85, passed into eternal rest on January 20, 2013 at Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar. Born in Noxen, PA to Florence and Chester Keiper, she later lived in Buffalo and up until recently, in Ravena. She is survived by siblings Audrey Patton of PA, Robert Keiper of MI, Florence Parker of PA, Allen and Thomas Keiper both of PA and predeceased by a sister, Helen Payne. She is survived by her longtime husband and friend, Leland Case of Ravena, her sons, Robert (Theresa) Case of East Greenbush, Dale Case (Karen Bowers) of Howes Cave and Martin (Christine) Case of Ravena and her daughter, Rebecca Allen of Ravena. She is a grandmother to seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Laura was a compassionate and caring person, who cherished the time she spent with her family, and was a true blessing to have known. She enjoyed preparing food and sweet treats for her loved ones. She extended her food service work to the R-C-S Central School District, from where she retired. She volunteered for the Grace United Methodist Church and Senior Projects of Ravena and served on the Board of Directors. She was a longtime member of the VFW Post #9594 Ladies Auxiliary.
Laura had a great appreciation for nature, especially flowering plants and owls. The gifts of her passion for arts and crafts are the afghans, doilies and ceramics she skillfully created. Laura also enjoyed music, playing games, reading and completing crossword puzzles.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center and Community Hospice of Albany.
Calling hours will be from 3-6 pm on Friday, January 25, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Laura's funeral will be at Grace United Methodist Church in Ravena at 11 am on Saturday, January 26, followed by an internment at Chestnut Lawn Cemetery in New Baltimore.
