Barbara Jane Dallas went peacefully into the loving arms of her
heavenly father on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016. Born on August 7th,
1927 in Massachusetts, she was adopted and raised by Karl and
Adelaide Pike of Gilsum, New Hampshire. Barbara met and married her
husband, Edward Johnson and settled in Keene, New Hampshire. They
were blessed with six children. They resided there until moving to
New York State in 1965, where a construction accident caused the
untimely death of Edward. Barbara later met and married Charles
Dallas, who predeceased her in 2006.
Barbara has resided at the Teresian House for a number of years due
to some health issues. Barbara was a friend to everyone and her
smile left an ever lasting impression on everyone she met. Barbara
retired from the RCS School District where she worked for the
Transportation Department and the Food Service Department.
Barbara was predeceased by her infant daughter, Carolyn, her son’s
Edward and Kenneth, grandchildren Peter Joseph Sorell and Tina Marie
Johnson and great-grandson William Mueller. Surviving to mourn her
passing are her daughter’s, Sylvia Marrott of Clifton Park, Julie
(Robert) Eck of Ravena and Kathy Spencer of Ravena; seventeen
grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; many
nieces, nephews and a long list of friends.
service will be held in Barbara’s memory on Friday, February 12th at
Babcock Funeral Home at 11am. Calling hours are from 10am to 11am
prior to the service. The burial with follow at Chestnut Lawn
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara’s
