Marie Vadney-Domanico, daughter of the late Mildred Hallenbeck and
Harold W Vadney, Sr., and wife of 39 years to John R. Domanico who
predeceased her on August 25, 1994, entered into eternal rest on
April 23, 2018.
Joan began her career for the State of New York
with the Department of Commerce upon graduating from Ravena Coeymans
Central School. She worked for Governor Averill Harriman and the New
York State Education Department. She spent some time with the
Catskill Savings Bank, Albany Medical Center School of Nursing, and
the law firm of Pozefsky, Tosci and Pozefsky. The last 20 years
(1978-1999) were with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation until
her retirement in December 1999. While with the FBI, Joan served
as Associate Editor of the bureau-wide publication, “The
Investigator”. In her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping, gardening,
traveling, and tole painting. She was a communicant of St. Patrick
Church, and a member of the choir until her move to Guilderland in
November, 1996; to Selkirk in 1998; and Slingerlands in 2013.
Joan is survived by two daughters: Cheryl Jean of
Voorheesville, and Suzanne Neri (John) of Delmar. Joan has two
grandsons: Nico Domanico Neri of Albany, and Jonas Domanico Neri of
survivors include her siblings: Florence M. Rossi (Anthony) of
Guilderland; Elizabeth Ann Vadney of Florida; Richard T. Vadney
(Kris) of North Carolina; and Robert H. Vadney (Helen) of Altamont.
She will be sorely missed by her dear friends, Thomas Gregory and
Laurie, and Frank Flint. Joan is also survived by numerous nieces,
nephews, and cousins. Her brothers Harold Vadney, Jr., and David
Mark predeceased her.

will be held 11 am on Thursday April 26, 2018 at the Babcock Funeral
Home, Ravena. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the
service starting at 9 am. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s
