BALTIMORE – Marcia Jean Shultz Eckl, born on May 4, 1951 in
Rhinebeck; a resident of Hannacroix for the past thirty-five years;
died unexpectedly on June 6, 2017: our beloved daughter, wife,
mother and grandmother.
Survived by: mother Phyllis Beckwith Shultz; brother A. William
Shultz and sisters Donna Shultz Stanley and Mary Shultz Briggs;
husband of forty years James Eckl; son Lee Eckl and daughter Johanna
Eckl Gill; and granddaughter Sarah Eckl.
Predeceased by: father Adelbert Shultz; granddaughter Elizabeth Eckl;
and horse “Lenny”.
was a graduate of the Vassar Brothers Hospital School of Nursing,
Class of 1971, and pursued a varied and honorable career in nursing
for thirty-two years thereafter.
was an accomplished equestrian competitor. She was also for many
years a 4-H Club leader, and served on the Greene County Cooperative
Extension Board of Directors.
Funeral services will be held 11am on Thursday, June 15th at the
Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in Chestnut Lawn
Cemetery, New Baltimore. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral
Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family
request donations in her memory, for the support of the
Greene County Youth Fair horse show, to the Greene County
Agricultural Society at P. O. Box 84, Greenville, NY 12083.
