RAVENA – Christopher J.
Gallagher, 65, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at home with his
loving family and friends by his side. Chris was the son of the late
George and Angeline Gallagher.
Chris retired after thirty years of service from the former General
Electric in Selkirk, N.Y.
Chris was a member of the R-C Sportsman Club where he enjoyed
fishing, hunting and archery. He made several trips to Alaska to
fish the annual running of the King Salmon. He was a great
enthusiast of radio controlled airplanes which he built and flew. He
also enjoyed restoring vintage cars; he owned several fine
automobiles over the years. Chris was a fan of the Boston Red Sox
and the Dallas Cowboys. Chris was known to be the life of the party
and always made a friend wherever he went (one more and we’ll all

children, Christina Driscoll (Keith Devine), Kimberly Gallagher-Alberts
(Larry), and Christopher Gallagher, Jr. He was the cherished PaPa to
Tyler Gallagher, Jeffrey Driscoll, Caitlyn and Evan Gallagher,
Angelina, Gabriella, Addison and Emery Alberts. Also survived by
siblings, George Gallagher (Pat), Joe Gallagher (Charlotte), Jack
Gallagher (Marjorie) and Mike Gallagher (Mary Lou Norton);
sister-in-law, Linda Datri (John); best friends, Bob “Bob-O” Keegan
(Cheryl), and Phil Muller; and many nieces and nephews. Chris was
predeceased by his sister, Joanna Murphy, and his brother-in-law,
A special thanks to Deanna and Michael Weeks, their unwavering
presence and care in his final days was of great comfort to Chris
and his family.
Chris was thankful for, the amazing care he received from the
nursing staff at Albany Medical Center, and New York Oncology
Hematology. He was especially fond of Dr. Mark Napier and Ellen
McGann, who always went above and beyond which never went unnoticed.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, August 14th at the
Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Friends may call at the funeral home
on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Chris may be made to
the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers and Blood Disorders at
Albany Medical Center or Make-a-Wish of Northeast New York.
