 DELMAR Ė Bridget Benedetto Gensicki, formerly of Coeymans and Delmar and recently of Saratoga Springs, entered into eternal rest on Monday September 9, 2013 at St.Peterís Hospital in Albany following a sudden illness, with her daughter Frances at her side.  Born in Glenmont NY on August 14, 1924, Bridget was the daughter of the late Marco Benedetto and the late Melinda Clemente Benedetto.  She was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar NY.

     Bridget was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony R. Gensicki, and her beloved son Anthony Mark Gensicki.

     Survivors include her loving daughter Frances L. Mathiesen and son-in-law Dr. Christian Mathiesen of Saratoga Springs;  loving grandmother of Laurice E. Jones (Rebecca Hawes) of Washington DC,  ELissa B Jones of Greenfield MA, Johnathan Mathiesen (Beth) of Newton MA, Marisa Mathiesen of Barcelona, Spain, and Christian Mathiesen Jr (Corey) of New York City;   great-grandmother of Joshua L. Hawes-Jones, and Adrian and Cormac Mathiesen.  She is also survived by her loving brother Victor Benedetto (Joan) of Pensacola FL;  sisters-in-law and friends Helen (Orlando) Benedetto and Helen (Al) Benedetto, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.  She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, including Orlando Benedetto, Virginia Benedetto Laraway, John Benedetto, Benny Benedetto, Al Benedetto, and Ella Benedetto Meach.

     Bridget was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her entire family.  She enjoyed passing down family recipes to her daughter and granddaughters.  When she was able she traveled with friends to Hawaii and took short trips to visit her granddaughters.  She was an astute bookkeeper who worked for a number of companies through the years.  She had an amazing work ethic and was employed well into her 70ís.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 Friday, September 13th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar.  There will be no calling hours.  Friends may greet the family prior to the service starting at 10 am at the church.

     The family strongly suggests in lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Bridget be given to A Family Place, 288 Oak St., Holyoke, MA 01040, a family shelter run by her granddaughter, Elissa, or to St. Lukeís Mission, 325 Walden Ave., Buffalo, NY 14211.
