ALBANY Ė Sherrie J. (LaRose) Grober, 64 died, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Peterís Hospital Hospice Inn. Born in Fitchburg, Mass. to the late Edward and Maxine (Mobley) LaRose, she lived in the Albany area since 1955. Sherrie was a 1970 graduate of R-C-S in Ravena and Sage College with a degree in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse for the past 32 years she worked briefly at St Peterís Hospital but found home care nursing to be where her skills were best suited. She worked for many years with The Albany Visiting Nurses Association as a home care nurse and supervisor for her beloved Team 3 nurses. More recently she worked as a supervisor and home care nurse for the Eddy Visiting Nurses Association where she mixed her home care visits with her best bud Jesse, her therapy dog. Sherrie was an Owner, Breeder and Handler of champion Golden Retrievers and Gordon Setters at Skara Brae Kennel of Selkirk, NY. She made many very great and close friends  with her participation in breeding, training and showing dogs as well as befriending many many of the owners of her puppies. Sherrie was also an accomplished and prolific baker for family gatherings and gardener of flowers.

Sherrie is survived and by her husband Fred; daughter Beth (Virginia State); step-daughter Emily (Washington State); and granddaughters Arielle (Bethlehem), Christina (Albany); and step-granddaughter Amaya (Washington State); brother Dennis (Chris) LaRose and family (Coxsackie); sister Kathi (Jeff) Palmer and family (Coeymans Hollow).  Sherrie was predeceased by her brother Russell LaRose.

Funeral services will be held at Babcock Funeral Home Ravena, NY. Calling hours will be Friday, March 24th Between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM. Burial will take place privately with the family at 10:00 AM  Saturday at St Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
