SELKIRK – Alice Louise (Davidson) Johnson of Selkirk passed away at
home at the age of 97 on the 30th of November, 2014
surrounded by her loving family.
Alice was born in Tunkhannock, PA the daughter of the late
Herbert, Sr. and Della Bellas Davidson. After graduating from high
school she worked at the Wyoming County Court House, PA. After WWII
she and her husband moved to the Albany area. In later years she
worked for the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle retiring in 1983.
Alice enjoyed traveling, reading, feeding and watching her
birds and especially baking delicious desserts. She was known to
the community and by her family as a very compassionate individual.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Robert James Johnson,
Sr. She is survived by her children, Ruth (Ronald) Rauche of
Ravena, Nancy (Ralph) Brower of Tallahassee, FL and Robert (Barbara)
Johnson of Delanson; grandchildren, Rebecca (Robert)
Brower-Underwood of Alabama, Renee (Joseph) Miller of Ohio, Deborah
Kropp of Rensselaerville, Andrea Brower of Florida, Audrey Kropp of
Westerlo and Matthew (Jennifer) Brower of Virginia;
great-grandchildren, Andre Underwood, Grant and Adam Miller, Loa
Brower and Cameron Kropp; also survived by several nieces and
nephews. Alice was predeceased by her parents, her daughter,
Lucille Kropp, her sister, Martha Davidson and her four brothers,
Robert, Herbert, Jr., Charles and Lawrence Davidson.
Funeral services will be held at 7 PM Friday, December 5, 2014 at
the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Friends may call prior to the
service on Friday starting at 4 PM. Final resting place will be in
Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock, PA. Donations in memory of Alice
may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road,
Albany, NY 12205 or the charity of your choice.
