RAVENA – Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Carmen J. Libertucci, Sr, 88, of Ravena, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.   Carmen, the youngest of 13 children was born in Albany on February 6, 1924 to Incoronata and Luciano Giovanni Libertucci of Campobasso Italy.

Carmen is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anna E. Libertucci;  his three children Carmen Libertucci, Jr. (Janice), Richard Libertucci (Warren Rebman), Mary Clouse (Peter);  his grandchildren Michael Libertucci (Meghan), Mark Libertucci (Stephanie), Jacob Clouse and Zachary Clouse;  his great granddaughter Guinevere Libertucci; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Carmen graduated in 1942 from Coeymans High School and then proudly served in World War II in the United States Marine Corps First Division as a Radio Operator in the South Pacific during WWII.  After the war, he married Anna Bruno and worked as a Freight Agent for the New York Central/Penn Central/ and Conrail railroad for over 40 years, retiring in 1985.  He was a member and past treasurer of the Ravena VFW Post 9594 as well as the Knights of Columbus.  Carmen loved to eat Anna’s delicious cooking, watch the Yankees and be with his wonderful grandchildren.

            The family would like to thank Jonna Rue RN, Connie and Saphia for their help and compassion during the past few weeks.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 12th from 3 to 6 PM  at the Babcock Funeral Home,  Ravena.  Funeral services will be held 9 AM Monday at St. Patrick’s Church in Ravena.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Coeymans.
