Ė Edward E. Meyer, 81, passed away suddenly Saturday November 7,
2015 at St. Peterís Hospital. He was born in Hannacroix, on the
farm of his late parents Charles and Frances Meyer, where he resided
all his life. Edward and Marie, his wife of 60 years, built their
house together on a parcel of family farm land where they raised
five children, Gary, Dwayne, Wendy, Edward Jr. and Alyce.
In 1956, Edward started as a union carpenter in Albany and in 1962
he joined the former Atlantic Cement Co. from which he retired in
1996 after 34 years of service.
Edward was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather and
overall hard working selfless man. He enjoyed family, hunting,
gardening and carpentry. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Butter Meyer; children, Gary
(Kathy), Wendy Bouchard, Edward, Jr. and Alyce Meyer (Frederick
Fielder); daughter-in-law, Ellen Meyer, wife of the late Dwayne;
14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua, Jessica (Justin) Knowles and
Julia Meyer, Brianna, Krysten and Marissa Meyer, Kaitlyn and
Courtney Bouchard, Edward III, Tanner, Cody and Logan Meyer and
Frederick R. Fielder; 2 Great-grandchildren, Ravon Parker Jr. and
Justice Knowles. Edward also had 6 siblings, sister Frances (Ray),
and brothers Charles (Marion), James, Louis (Gerry), Robert (Dawn)
and Thomas (Linda).
All services will be held privately at the convenience of the
family. There will be a graveside service in the spring at Stanton
Hill Cemetery, Hannacroix.
In lieu of flowers donation in memory of Edward may be made to
St. Peterís Hospital Foundation, the
American Cancer Society or the
American Heart Association.
