On Friday morning, June 9, 2017, after a long and beautiful life of 92 years, Alice Regina (Turner) Powers of Selkirk, New York, was peacefully reunited with her husband, Robert Powers, in eternal love.  Alice leaves behind her three daughters, Alice Marie Korzatkowski and her husband Frank, of Selkirk, New York, Kathleen A. Pelletier and her husband, John, of Selkirk, New York, and Joan M. Wilson and her husband, Stephen, of Leicester, Massachusetts.  She also leaves behind her sister, Ann Everingham, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her son, Robert Jr., in 2008, her sister, Isabel Roberts, and her brother, George Turner.

Alice (also known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren, both biological and unofficially adopted) spent most of her years surrounded by her family in Selkirk.  She loved her ice cream and doughnuts, and watching her hummingbirds.  She was especially fond of her little bird, Bessie (most recently known as Fred), and her adopted bird, Ted.  She was blessed with an incredible sense of humor and was a good sport no matter what the situation, as evidenced by her massive collection of squirrel t-shirts and miniatures.  She loved being on the computer, playing solitaire and keeping in touch with family and friends by email.  She also loved working on her genealogy books, keeping them up to date and expanding them with photos, documents, and announcements.

A memorial service and burial were held privately at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of flowers, if anyone would like to make a donation to their favorite charity in her name, that would be greatly appreciated.  And most importantly, Alice would want you to remember how precious life is and try to live each day as if it were your last.
