COXSACKIE – Lewis S. Stone, 74, passed away suddenly July 10, 2017.
He was born in Hastings-on-Hudson, lived in Catskill, the Ravena
area and then West Coxsackie. He was the son of the late Bertha (Zebrock)
Stone and Lawrence E. Stone. He was a graduate of Christian
Brothers Academy and attended Veterinary College for one year. Lew
was a former NYS Trooper, owned and operated a custom sign shop and
model railroad shop for 30 years in Ravena. He also had various
jobs as a truck driver and currently employed at Hannaford Trucking.
He also operated SRR trail rides and horseback riding. Lew was a
member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Schenectady
Railroad Club, and avid hunter and sportsman.
include his wife, Evelyn T. (Court) Stone; daughters, Colleen Stone-McQuade
and Stacey (Marc) DePasquale; step-children, Alan (Debby) Court,
Sharon (John) Snider, David (Karen) Court, R. Michael (Melissa)
Snyder, Karen Snyder, Joseph (Kim) Snyder and John Snyder;
grandchildren, Stone, Bethany, A. Carl McQuade and Stephen
DePasquale; step-grandchildren, Ashley (Snyder) Conway, AJ Court,
Amanda Zelaya, Anthony Court, Dale Childs, Sheena Winnie, Sonsia
Court, Lora Giardelli and James Snider; also survived by several
other extended step-grandchildren. Lewis was predeceased by his
step-grandson, Johnny Snider.
Friends may call at the Trinity United Methodist Church from 10
to 11:30 am on Saturday, July 15th. Funeral services will be held
at 11:30, immediately following the calling hours, at the church.
